What happens to individuality when separate lives form a larger whole? Relations brings this tension into one extended composition. Human figures are interconnected yet remain distinguishable; the painting can be read both as an assembly of presences and as a single field created by their proximity.
The portfolio documents the monumental acrylic work Relations (2021) and a detail of its surface. These images make scale important: close looking reveals individual passages, while distance restores their interdependence. The work approaches belonging without surrendering autonomy. It asks whether identity is something enclosed within a figure or something that also takes shape in the space between people.
