Rebuses treats a painting as a sequence of clues that resists a single solution. Warriors, muses, angels and other fragments of cultural memory meet in extended compositions, where one sign interrupts or transforms another. The viewer must travel across the image, holding several possible readings at once.
Representative acrylic paintings from 2005 stretch across four metres. Their unusual format makes interpretation a physical process: the eye moves, pauses, returns and revises. In the museum catalogue, these works are placed within an unfinished journey through myths, tradition and symbol. The reward is not to solve a puzzle definitively, but to discover how meaning changes as its fragments enter new relationships.
