Horizontals

At four metres wide, representative Horizontals paintings from 2003 cannot be absorbed in a single glance. The eye moves across relief-like passages, repeated signs and interruptions, gathering fragments and returning to them as if reading an unfinished sentence.

This extended format transforms looking into a sequence of decisions. Apparent continuity gives way to shifts of rhythm and scale; elements that seem connected may resist an easy explanation. The cycle belongs to Oraczewski’s exploration of myths and symbols, but its meaning also rests in what remains unresolved. These paintings allow time to enter the act of viewing, making the search for relation as significant as any final image.
