Epiphanies begins with a contradiction between repetition and the singular gesture. In large paintings from 2017, Oraczewski worked with supports and motifs associated with industrial production, including IKEA, and brought them into contact with his own unrepeatable pictorial language. Standardization becomes the ground against which individual expression is tested.
The artist also deliberately exposed works to atmospheric conditions. Time and nature therefore enter the image as collaborators that cannot be controlled completely. An epiphany here is neither a decorative flash nor a guaranteed revelation: it is a brief opening produced by opposing forces. The series asks what may endure when the surface itself is allowed to change.
