About the event
Presented during the Venice Biennale 2026, MINORIA: Condensed Trace is a site-specific installation by Józef Krzysztof Oraczewski, developed within the ongoing curatorial project MINORIA, conceived and led by Monika Turczyńska.
The exhibition focuses on the moment in which form begins to emerge but has not yet stabilised. Rather than presenting closed compositions, the works operate within a state of concentration, where image, light and material remain in transformation.
Oraczewski’s practice is grounded in process. The works function as traces of becoming rather than fixed visual statements — oscillating between presence and disappearance, density and dissolution. The surface is approached not as a boundary, but as a field in which perception unfolds.
Material plays a central role. The use of dry pastel, layered pigment and burnt edges introduces a tension between fragility and force, suggesting that form is not constructed but revealed through pressure, gesture and light.
Condensed Trace constitutes the fifth chapter…
